How to Read Barcodes from Live Video Cam using ByteScout Barcode Reader SDK

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to read a barcode from a live video camera with ByteScout barcode reader SDK using C#. First, you need to add a reference. To do that right-click references, then click Add Reference, Search for Bytescout barcode reader SDK and browse for TouchlessLib.dll, I’ll put the link in the description where you can download the DLLs.

After adding the reference you need to add the WebCamLib.dll into the solution tree as a file. Once you’re done adding it into the solution tree, make sure to change the copy to the output directory and to copy always.
Since we’re using a 32-bit DLL and there is no other version for this DLL. We need to change the program’s environment to x86. To do that, click the dropdown menu on the left side of the start button, then select Configuration Manager. Change the platform into x86 by clicking the dropdown menu under the platform and selecting new. Select x86 as the new platform and change the copy settings from empty.

Now that you’re done setting up the platform, you may now start with your code. Once you’re done with your code, you may now run the program. The program runs successfully. Let’s click start and show our QR code to the camera. As you can see, the program was able to get the value of the QR code that was shown in the live camera.
