Tutorial: convert XLS, XLSX to HTML with Bytescout Spreadsheet Tools
This tutorial explains how to batch convert Excel files XLS, XLSX (including files with multiple worksheets) to HTML format.
Launch Bytescout Spreadsheet Tools and click Add files, Add folder or Add folder with subfolders button.
Add files button allows adding one or multiple Excel files to convert.
Add folder button allows adding folder to convert all spreadsheet files it contains.
Add folder with subfolders button allows adding folder with multiple subfolders and convert XLS to HTML files retaining folders structure.
You can batch convert Excel spreadsheet files. Bytescout Spreadsheet Tools Excel converter lets you simultaneously convert XLS and XLSX files, as well as other formats.
After adding files to the converter list, you can view them by clicking View button or Alt+V hotkey or click Next button to proceed to converter options. To convert XLS to HTML, select HTML output format.
Please note that Excel or other spreadsheet software is not required to view files as well as to convert Excel to HTML.
You can convert XLS files with multiple worksheets to HTML format. Spreadsheet Tools software can create subfolders for spreadsheets with 2 or more worksheets when converting spreadsheet to HTML. This option is enabled by default. To disable, click Options under output format list box and check off the option.
Then select Output folder for result HTML files. You can also save profile – the preferences you’ve chosen – for further use. It can be loaded later and you won’t have to set the same preferences again.
When everything is done, click Start! button.
You’ll see the progress bar and current status of XLS to HTML conversion. When the status is ‘Done!’, select one of the following options: explore the output folder, start wizard again or close wizard.
To see result files, select ‘Explore the output folder’. This will open the folder with converted HTML files. If you chose to convert Excel files with multiple worksheets creating sub-folders, your result will look like a folder containing a set of HTML files which can be opened with any web browser.
